Making Artificial Crystals

Yes, All these minerals above are artificial and made with chemicals. I'm sorry that I don't have all the recipies for them.

PROCEDURE #A

Aluminum Potasium Sulfate (cubic)

What you need???

- Safety goggles, 200 ml of Aluminum Potasium Sulfate(no coloring), 680 ml of water, Plastic bucket, Measuring Cups, 5"*7" growing area (plastic container), Pan for boiling water, "base rock" fill the bottom of the growing area, quart size jug to store excess material.

Procedure-

(1)Put base rock in growing area. Make sure its under 1 1/2" in highth.

(2)Boil 680 ml of water and add to 200 ml of chemicals.

**Make sure all chemical is dissolved in water**

(3)Add solution to base rock to the top of the container.

(4)Store excess chemicals in quart size jug to be used later.

(5)Leave growing area to sit for two or three days.

(6)Check and add more solution when nedded.

(7)When desired growth is achived drain and let dry on paper towell.

**Be sure to save any crystals growing on the sides of the growing area to be used in procedure #C**

(8)Enjoy!!

**NOTE** BE SURE NOT TO GET THE CRYSTAL(S) WET, THEY WILL TURN BACK INTO SOLUTION!!!

PROCEDURE #B

Purple Amethyst Geode

What you need???

- Safety goggles, 200 ml of Aluminum Potasium Sulfate(purple coloring), 50 ml of Aluminum Potasium Sulfate(no coloring), 200 ml of plaster of paris(Calcium Sulfate), 400 ml of water, Plastic bucket, Measuring Cups, Egg shaped growing area (plastic container should be big enough to contain ingredients), Pan for boiling water, quart size jug to store excess material.

Procedure-

(1)Mix 200 ml of plaster of paris, 50 ml of clear Aluminum Potasium Sulfate, and 13 ml of water.

(2)Sread Mixture around Egg shaped container, Let dry.

(3)When dried remove geode shell and place in an appropriate growing area.

(4)Mix 200 ml of purple Aluminum Potasium Sulfate to 380 ml of boiling water.

(5)Let chemicals cool.

(6)Pour chemical solution into growing area.

(7)Store excess chemicals in quart size jug to be used later.

(8)Let grow for at least a week. When desired growth is achived let dry on paper towell.

(9)Enjoy!!

**NOTE** BE SURE NOT TO GET THE CRYSTAL(S) WET, THEY WILL TURN BACK INTO SOLUTION!!!

PROCEDURE #C

Single Aluminum Potasium Sulfate Crystals(clear)

What you need???

- Safety goggles, Aluminum Potasium Sulfate(no coloring) left over from procedure #A, Solution left over

from procedure #A, Plastic bucket, 2"*3" growing area (plastic container), pencil, monofiliment line.

Procedure-

(1)Use crystals left over from procedure #A.

(2)Attach crystals to monofiliment line, then line to pencil.

(3)Add solution to the container.

(4)Drape pencil attached with crystals in solution.

**Make sure Crystals are not toching and side or bottom of container.**

(6)Check and add more solution when nedded.

(7)When desired growth is achived drain and let dry on paper towell.

(8)Enjoy!!

**NOTE** BE SURE NOT TO GET THE CRYSTAL(S) WET, THEY WILL TURN BACK INTO SOLUTION!!!
