GEODES


WHERE - Dugway Range, Juab County. Take U.S. Highway 6, going northeast. Turn left on Brush Wellman oiled road, going west. Travel about 34 miles. Turn right on a bumpy dirt road and travel 17 miles, north west. There will be a sign directing to the geode beds. A point of interest on the Overland Trail Pony Express Road. There are monuments along this road. One being at the point of the 17 mile road and the 10 mile end. Truck recommended.

WHAT - Dugway geodes are well known for their beautiful design in the cut solids and cavities. They are a volcanic buble.

HOW - A shovel is handy. Before collecting the geodes it is requested that you obtain permission from Loy Crapo in Delta, phone: (801)864-2402.

TIPS - Take water and food. Watch for rattlesnakes!
